One day Cricket : Batting For Life

Second Biggest tournament is world of cricket is under way. Often dubbed as mini world cup , ICC Champions trophy is prestigious tournament and every team would try to win this cup.
But who so ever will be the winner , one thing is battling for survival and its name is 'One Day Cricket '.
Not long back one day cricket was biggest crowd puller. People use to buy new tvs for one day world cup , nation used to miss its beat to watch India's one day.
I remember world cup 1992 which was played in newzeland. I remember how we used to put alarm to wake up at 4:30 in morning to watch the matches. It was fun.
That was 1990s , this is 2009. With arrival of 20-20 , one day seems boring these days. World cup 2007 had crowd presence of 50% . Quick exit of India and Pakistan also didnt help much.
Then came 20-20 world cup. It was blockbuster event. Considering the speed , less time and night matches 20-20 is perfect for people and it also serves as family outing event.
With IPL coming into being , cricket changed totally. Bollywood bigies , franchise , corporates , cheer girls . IPL has all to give one day cricket run for its money.
Cricket is no more just a game but also big buisness and condition for one day cricket can also be judged by rate it is getting for advertisement.
While 20-20 world cup managed to get around 4 lakhs/10 sec ad , champion trophy is getting 3.5 lakhs/10 sec ad , that too for Indian Matches only. IPL gets 4.5 lakhs/10 sec!!!!!
Debate is on about would one day cricket survive. Recently tendulkar suggested dividing one day cricket into two innings. Some domestic crickets have already reduced 50 over match to 40 over matches.
Future of one day cricket is at stake and champions trophy may decide its future!!!!!!
