Yusuf Pathan Hits Double Ton

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Yusuf pathan is known for his unpredictability. This ruthless batsman might not last for a ball at times but if he does he can turn the tide anytime.

The South Zone came in line of fire of bat of yusuf pathan who single handely turned the match in duleep trophy. Match which was largely dominated by south zone till the last day!!!!!!

Scoring 400 in the first innigs , backed by south captain karthik's solid century , south managed to bowl west out for 251. Again in this innings too yusuf had hit a century.

In second innings south zone manage to score 386 and gave a target of improbable 536 for victory. But when yusuf bats , every target is possible . He made 210 not out of just 190 balls and west zone won by 3 wickets!!!!!!!!

With this performance yusuf is strong contender of making comeback in onedays and t-20.

9th Rank Bangladesh Shocks 1st Ranked India

Sunday, January 17, 2010

Shewag addressed press conference yesterday .He addressed media like he bats. Ruthlessly he dismissed Bangladesh team as ordinary test team which is simply not capable of taking India's 20 wickets!!!!!!

May be he should have waited for just another day to form his opinion. The dream batting line up has been demolished by bangladesh bowlers. Shewag , Gambhir , V V S , Dravid and yuvi are back to pavilion and with dhoni not there India seems to be in big trouble. The master is still there on the crease but cricket is not individual game , he needs some one to stay at crease with him.

India's Gen Next Cricketers

Saturday, January 16, 2010

Virat Kohli , Suresh Raina , Rohit Sharma , Sudip Tyagi , Yosuf pathan , Irfan are all well known players. Here we are going to talk about five promising cricketers who are going to have good future if given proper oppurtunities.

1) Abhishek Nayar :

He plays for mumbai in first class matches and represents mumbai Indian in IPL.

He is all rounder who bats left ha
nded and bowls medium pace.

Outstanding fielder
, abhishek can be very handy in 20-20 and one dayers.

His presence can uplift the fielding department .

2) Murli Vijay

He has played 2 test matches as replacement when shewag was injured and when gambhir was not there. Averaging 53 , vijay looks confident batsman with good stance.

His body language does reflect composure needed by batsman batting higher in the order.

Still young this guy has strong chances of making a great career as batsman for team India.

3) Cheteshwar Pujara :

Outstanding middle order batsman , he has hit triple centuries in first class cricket. Hailed by all biggies of Indian Cricket , this man has great mental strength at such a young age.

With v.v.s , rahul and sachin on their final stages of career , this man is likely to enter test middle orders in couple of years.

Presently he is under d-grade contract of BCCI. With around 3500 runs at average of 56 in first class matches , this man does has great career waiting for him.

Having hit 12 centuries with 302 being highest , he is one of batsman which we need to look out for.

4) Manish Pandey

Destructive. This one word goes with manish pandey. With his batting he can destroy bowling attack.

Manish , in his first Full season for karnataka Ranji team , was the top run scorer in ranji trophy 09/10 season with 882 Runs which includes 4 100's and 5 50's , with a average of 63.00 and a staggering strike rate of 79.74 .

He ignited the finals of ranji trophy by scoring 144 and taking karnataka on verge of victory. Though his side lost by mere six runs , he did make match very exciting.

This man is knocking doors on Indian Selectors and with his kind of performance , selectors would have to take note sooner than expected.

5) Ajinkya Rahane

Right handed batsman he has is one of 11 batsman who have had made 1000 runs in single ranji trophy season.

He averages 69.89 in first-class cricket, which is next only to Donald Bradman & Vijay Merchant.

He is stronge contender when trio greats call off day in test matches.

India Not Long Term No 1: Ian Chappell

Tuesday, January 12, 2010

Chappells always have opinion on Indian Cricket. After famous coach saga of greg chappell , Ian chappel has spoken about Indian Cricket in his interview to cricketinfo.

Abstract of the interview is as follows :

"I don't think great teams are built on opening batting partnerships. But to me, there is a far more important thing, and this is one reason why I don't rate India as a long-term No.1,"

"When I look at the averages and the strike-rates for India in the last 12 months, I don't see two champion bowlers. In fact, I am struggling to find one champion bowler in that line-up.

"They've got some good bowlers. Sure, they have got a very good batting line-up, but the bowling is really not good enough to see them win consistently all around the world,"

"I would have thought it was a greater achievement if they had caught up with Australia, while Australia was still very much a great side, rather than waiting for Australia to come back to the field,"

"That to me has been the disappointing thing. It seems to me that the other teams have almost thrown their hands and said that 'it's hard to beat them, we will just wait for them to fall back and then we will catch them',"

Red Hot Form- Virat Kohli

Virat kohli is man of the moment. Having got oppurtunity after sachin tendulkar withdrew himself from tri series , virat seems to have grabed oppurtunity with both hands.

In last six innings that he has played he has scored 3 half centuries and 2 centuries.

Amongst the Indian batsmen with 500 runs or more, Kohli's average of 58.23 is the best - 757 in 13 innings

Surely he is in red hot form and should deserve place in team even when tendulkar returns.

Dhoni's Main Worry : Bowlers Failing

Friday, January 8, 2010

India has lot of experienced bowlers in its line up. Zaheer Khan , Harbhajan Singh , Comeback men ashish nehra and shree santh. With their experience one does expect them to bowl some good overs. Also one cannot expect all four to give over 6 runs an over in a match. But they did exactly opposite of what is expected from them!!!!!

Now if its purely batting pitch one cant blame them But when less experienced bowler jadega give approx 5 runs an over and part time bowler yuvraj give mere 33 runs in his ten overs , taking one wicket , sure one cant blame pitch. Also one cant blame dew also ,since we bowled during day time.

India is having tough time bowling in 7 out of 10 matches. If our batting fails , the chances of winning become minimum. "We have problem bowling in late overs" said dhoni 6 months back and after six months , we still have same problem!!!!!!!!

If giving 8 runs an over is bowling why not play all batsman who can bowl a bit . Even they would end up giving 8 runs!!!!!!!!!!

Shewag/Gauti/Yuvi Failure Is Good For India!!!!!!!!

Thursday, January 7, 2010

Shewag failed , ever consistent gautam gambhir failed and so did main stay of middle order yuvraj. 50/3 read the score. With tendulkar being absent , onus was on dhoni and he had three young players virat kohli , suresh raina and jadeja to do the job with him.

Call it blessing in disguise but failing of shewag , gauti and yuvi yesterday was good for India. Not long before shewag and tendulkar had failed chasing big total and gauti-kohli did the job for India. Yesterday it was dhoni-kohli supported by raina. One name was common in both victories. VIRAT KOHLI. It good to see young man taking responsibility. We all know what gautam , shewag , yuvraj and dhoni can do but we need more match winners and likes of raina , kohli , jadega have potentiality of being match winners.

Its not that these players should fail repeatively , that would be worse for India but occasionally when such things happen its good for India. More players stand up and take responsibility , more freedom of shorts these players would have. Its heartening to see a 20 year old kholi being one of architects of two victories for India.

Kotla Report : Kahani Sirf 7 Ball Ki

Monday, January 4, 2010

This is not fair. Only 7 balls were unplayable out of 23 overs and that too 5 balls were bowled by inexperienced sudip tyagi . Now this is not what we are saying. As per media this is what bcci has said in report given to icc!!!!!!!!

May be what bcci wanted to say was ban tyagi not pitch!!!!!. His inexperience led him ball in dangerous areas. Or may be bcci wanted to say ke chad yaar...sirf saat gendo ka to mamla tha..load kaahe lete ho!!!!!!!

Now it took just one ball to get career ended for southafrican pringle. So we can imagine what 7 balls could have done but still dont ban kotla is what bcci insist . So what if bcci and dcca were cautioned twice previously about kotla, do baar mein jaage woh hum nahi seems to be logic.

Let us see what icc does now.

Bhajji Is Right About Motera

Saturday, January 2, 2010

After commenting on kotla , harbhajan has again commented on motera stadium which he felt was not good for test cricket.

While it was high scoring test match which can be said as batsman's paradise , it had little to offer for the bowlers.

Whats use of a pitch which has no challenge for batsman?. Bowlers become more like servers for batsman in such pitches where batsman of both team show their skill of hitting .

Test match is said to be pure cricket because it is challenging for batsman and bowlers. It's call test because it is real test of skill.

Unless pitches are made competitive , ballers wont have their part to play. Their only role would confine to throwing 6 balls an over , so that batsman can hit and this is not cricket.

Raina :2010 Mein To Bada Ho Ja

Friday, January 1, 2010

Surest raina is talented left hand batsman and off late a part time bowler who has become one of captain's choice in middle order. He faces challenge from another talented batsman rohit sharma and upcoming talented batsman virat kohli.

Before resigning from position of coach , controversial greg chapell in his presentation about road map of Indian cricket , had name suresh raina as one of most promising cricketer. Sunil gavaskar and ravi shastri also hold him in high regard for his talent.

Having said that one cannot be permanently new comer. It is going to be 5th year of suresh raina in internation cricket. He is known for his big hits and fast batting but now he has to prove that he is match winner on regular occasions. Time and again he has missed oppurtunity to finish matches. Yes he has hit some quick fire 50s as well as 100s . He has threatened even best bowling but kind of confidence that yuvi or dhoni gives by their ability to finish matches is what we would like to see in 2010 from raina.

His position is competed by rohit (who seems to be playing too many shorts too early quite often) and virat kohli. Virat kohli recently proved his mettle and showed temperament to play as per demand of situation. Virat too has been critized for his temperament like raina.

This man has great future , provided he learns to stay in wicket and win more matches for India.

Why Kotla Needs To Be Banned?

Sunday, December 27, 2009

Kotla faces threat of being banned as venue for international matches for period of 12 to 24 months. While it is shameful incident but ban would be good in long run for Indian cricket.

Kotla stadium had investment of 100 crore on its re vamp. Yes whooping 100 crores!!!!!!!!!!!!!. But what is use of those 100 crore if pitch is not upto mark?.

This is not first time that such thing has happened in kotla. Australian tour saw an uneven low bounce pitch and champions league too saw not so desirable kotla pitch.

Experts believe it is proxy voting right given to committees in delhi which is making things work. Pitch committee are hand picked by administrative committee to make sure they have their proxy votes!!!!!!!!!!!

Chetan chauhan who is vice president of delhi cricket association before match said that match would be high scoring , something around 325 odd runs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well he is partially right. If match would have continued it would have been 325 total runs scored by srilanka , India combined!!!!!!!!!

Pitch was so ruthless that it could have caused serious injury to some.

Kotla needs a ban to wake up. We are host of world cup in 2011 and this is not what we want to see.

With cricket administration becoming part time careers for politicians , such things might occur again!!!!!!!!.

Onus is now of ICC and would it have guts to ban delhi?. BCCI is strongest board and as bishen singh bedi said , when any problem occurs state board and BCCI glue together always.

Decision would come probably today and inspite of being Indian , I want this venue to be banned so that such things dont occur in future.

Naseeruddin Of Indian Cricket - V V S Laxman

Wednesday, December 23, 2009

He is not sachin tendulkar , the demi god of Indian cricket. He is not dashing m s dhoni who can fire big sixes at will. He is not virender shewag who creates doubts among bowler about their skill. He is not wall like dravid , neither he is aggressive ganguly who made mother of all come back. He is elegant and very very special laxman.

The man who changed Indian Cricket Forever. His one inning induced self belief in Indian cricket (as ganguly and others believe) and started journey of becoming No 1 in test arena.

Saluting this media shy , back operator and person with 2nd highest test average in last five years (highest being gautam gambhir).

He is naseeruddin shah of Indian cricket . Like naseer he is critically aclaimed by all criketing greats of the world but at times he doesnot enjoy mass following like that of dhoni and yuvraj.

Ompuris Of Cricket

Saturday, December 19, 2009

Few years back naseeruddin shah , known as institute of acting himself , was awarded with lifetime achievement award in one of bollywood awards . That award ceremony had ompuri video congratulating naseer. Ompuri said some thing which was sattire to Indian Film Industry. He said "we are like aloo . When something is missing in making vegetable , people add aloo!!!!!!!!!"

Similar thing is happening in world of cricket. Largely a batsman game and pressure for commercialization if making this game as purely batsman's buisness. Bowlers are there so that batsman can hit boundaries and sixes. 3 Power Plays , Free hits , Only one bouncer and no leg side ball in onedays!!!!!!!!. Sure we see more 300s + these days.

Kapil Dev recently lashed out at cricketting faternity for having pitches like that of rajkot. Recently harbhajan singh had too lashed out on ahmedabad pitch. He went to extent of saying that bowlers are not just to serve batsmans!!!!!!!!

Gavaskar when asked by cnn-ibn about which era he would have prefered if given choice , 80s or present one?. Immediately gavaskar replied that 80s was more challenging as batsman and so would have preferred 80s.

Bowlers are important part of the game and they should have something to pose challenge to batsmans. Commercialization must not take away charm from bowling or else time would come , when we would have 11 specialist batsman because bowlers might give 20 runs per over anyways so what is need to have bowler. Even batsman can bowl and give that many runs!!!!!!!!!

Bowlers are indeed becoming ompuris of cricket who are respected by colleagues but not much seeked and loved by people like batsmans!!!!!!

India Lost T-20 World Cup Because Of Lalit Modi

Thursday, December 17, 2009

Seems like world is after lalit's modi's head these days. After loosing in election of rajasthan cricket board and media reports that BCCI might scrap his IPL chairmanship , now sri lankan ex captain Ranatunga has lashed out against lalit modi for spoiling the game of cricket and has blamed him squarely for India's under performance in t-20 world cup.

"India lost the Twenty20 World Cup thanks to Lalit Modi. No one else. Lalit Modi and his IPL. When I was playing, there were players who always wanted to achieve something for their country -- we used to play for our clubs for no money. It was an honour to play for our country. Not like nowadays."
