India Unlikely To Remain No 1 In Test Ratings

Monday, December 7, 2009

India has become Number 1 in test arena. India has been playing well in test matches since 1.5 years and all the hard work has been rewarded in form of test ratings.

While it is matter of proud for all cricket fans of India , thanks to schedules , India wont remain number one for long , unless south africa , sri lanka , australia , england nullify each others claim in ratings.

While 2010 will open with India being at top but in first six months , India is playing only two test matches!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why it is so?. Well its all about money , honey!!!!!!. A recent survey shows that only 7% Indians like to view test matches. Now less viewers means less ad revenue , so BCCI wants team India to play more and more onedays/t-20s .

Even dhoni has shown his concerns about lack of test matches.

He said that "It is a bit of concern that we are playing just two Test matches in the next six months so it will be tough for us to maintain this position,"

"Well I can't do anything about it. What we can do is whatever format of cricket we are asked to play, we play that. The schedule is almost done for a few years in advance. Of course, it is good to play Test cricket but at the same time we have to play whatever cricket is offered to us. We hardly get time for ourselves so getting time to complain, that is definitely impossible,"
