She is queen of Indian tennis. Sania Mirza , the role model for many aspiring women of India in sport arena is busy with another type of activities ,these days.

Being experienced in facing conservative mullahs and right wing groups , sania is not experiencing another type of battle , off the court. Mera fiance nirdosh hai type of battle which has kept both Indians and Pakistanis glued to the television. Atleast most of them , judging from the channel coverage.

Ayesha siddiqui , the woman who alleges to be wife of sohaib malik is being interviewed by most of hindi , english , telgu news channel in India and most of urdu , english news channel of pakistan.

She , yesterday filed F.I.R against shohaib and considering this being high profile case , police acted as per books taking away shohaib's passport.

Sania and sohaib did address press today and sania pledge her full support to sohaib and to her responsibility of being Indian by cooperating with Indian Police.

Sania Mirza knew it was not going to be easy to marry pakistani , sports person at first place. She knew she would be slammed by few groups , here and there . She knew opinions would be divided in her country about her decision. Amidst this , she took bold decision of continuing to play for India , which too would raise some eyebrows both in India as well as across the border but she might not have known that along with this obvious issues she would have to deal with ayesha's case too.

But this biggest match of sania has refree in form of Indian Legal System and now matter being in court , it would be upto court to decide.

Queen of Indian Tennis getting married to ex captain and all rounder of pakistan cricket team. Wow . The news that started flowing in pakistan media first and then Indian channel went of breaking news spree. Some approached pakistan news channel , some malik's cousin , some sania's father , some sania's friends. It was rocking day for Indian channel who were excited and shocked at same time.

Excited because sania mirza is most famous female sports person of India and shocked because they were caught sleeping. No one could catch the development .

As Indian Media broke the news ,twitter started buzzing with messages. Some were exicted , some were disappointed , some wanted sania to focus on career than marriage , some wondered how this happened?

Never the less , sania mirza has done aman ki asha. If what sania and malik said is implemented , this is what we would see. India ki beti would become pakistan ki bahu and wont leave tennis. She would represent India in common wealth games and would be playing in olympics in 2012 ,again representing India.

Sohaib Malik , her pakistani to be husband has pledge support in her desire of continuing to represent India.

Indo-Pak pair enter South Africa Open final

While hafiz saeed is busy calling jihad against India and bal thackeray is busy slamming shahrukh khan for his invite Pakistanis comment and Indian government is busy with Pakistani counterparts to discuss what to discuss in talks , two individuals are busy playing as a team and reaching south Africa open final.

The third seed Indo-Pak pair of Rohan Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi pipped fifth seed American pair of Erico Butorac and Rajeev Ram 7-6(5), 6-4 in the semi-final encounter on Friday.

They next meet winners of the other semi-final between Steve Darcis/Kavier Malisse and Karol Beck/Harel Levy.

The final match will be played on Sunday.

Davydenko shocks Federer

Russia's Nikolay Davydenko stunned Roger Federer to reach the final of the ATP World Tour Finals with a 6-2, 4-6, 7-5 victory over the world number one on Saturday.

Federer had never lost to Davydenko in 12 previous meetings, but the Wimbledon and French Open champion was unable to extend that run in the semi-finals at London's O2 Arena.

Davydenko, who will face Argentine Juan Martin Del Potro in Sunday's final, had only qualified for the last four late on Friday and he was back on court just 14 hours later.

But the Russian showed no signs of fatigue as he booked his place in the final for the second successive year.

Fifth seed Del Potro meanwhile overcame Swedish eighth seed Robin Soderling 6-7 (1/7), 6-3, 7-6 (7/3)) in an equally tight second semi to earn his place in the trophy match despite his rival firing down 16 aces.

Serena beats Venus in WTA championships final

Serena Williams bested big sister Venus again Sunday, winning 6-2, 7-6 (4) in the season-ending Sony Ericsson Championships final.

Serena broke twice in the first set and lost just seven points on serve in her last match of the year. She looked sharper than Venus in every facet of a match that featured few long rallies and little of the spectacular tennis the two have provided in some of their previous meetings.

"It feels great," said Serena, who also won the WTA Tour's season-ending event in 2001. "I totally didn't expect to come here and win."

It was Serena's fourth straight win over her sister. She also beat Venus in the round-robin stage of the Doha tournament, the Wimbledon final and the semifinals in Miami this year.

"Playing a final against Venus is really tough," Serena said. "Even though she wasn't really feeling great, she kept hitting every ball back."

Serena earned $1.55 million for the win after finishing the event undefeated.

WTA Tennis C’ship begins today in Doha

The eight best tennis stars of the world will be seen in action here in the WTA Tennis Championship, which is beginning today.

The championship being held in Doha, a city of Qatar, is not a Grand Slam but its importance is considered equivalent to a Grand Slam event.

The tennis season will be ended with this event.

Other tennis contests are held on the knockout basis but this event is played like round robin league.

As last year, the competitors have been divided into two groups named for the colors of the Qatari flag.
